Accounting (ACT)

Participants are given the opportunity to analyze a real-world case situation that deals with accounting activity within an organization and to present solutions to a professional with experience in accounting and financial services. The accounting category will be generalized and will be a combination of financial and managerial accounting. The case could ask for some basic calculations, formulas, ratios or financial statements.


Corporate Finance (CF)

Participants may be challenged to provide analytical insight in regard to financial institutions such as commercial banks, savings and loan associations, credit agencies, credit unions, consumer-finance companies, collection agencies, and lastly security and commodity brokerages.


Fashion and Retail Management (FRM)

Participants may be challenged to provide insight into marketing, management functions, and tasks in any retail establishment. They are given the opportunity to analyze a real-world case situation that deals with a single or multiple aspects within the retail scope.


Human Resources Management (HRM)

Participants are given the opportunity to analyze a real-world human resource case situations and to present solutions to a professional (judge) with experience in the field. Participants may be challenged to incorporate best practices of marketing new human resource policies within a firm’s organizational structure.


Management Consulting (MCO)

The participant will be representing a consulting firm and the judge will most likely be the “client” they’re working on. MCO will be judged by industry professionals that are familiar with the overall consulting scope and specialize in management consulting. Often you will need to help in making tough decisions or maintaining their current business operations.


Restaurant and Food Services (RFSM)

Participants may be challenged to provide insight into marketing, management functions, and operations in: a restaurant or a food service business that is primarily engaged in providing lodging, food and beverage services, special events, and meeting spaces.

Business Law (BL)

In this category participants are given the opportunity to analyze a real-world case situation that zooms in on interactions with two or more businesses. So this case isn’t all about marketing to other business there are also other huge obstacles than B2B business must hurdle. This case could include legal aspects, partnership details, and steps necessary for effective relationship building between two or more firms.


Business 2 Business (B2B)

Participants will evaluate a real life scenario a company is facing and try their best to solve it! Cases can include problems such as patents, trademark, or copyright issues, but can also be situations when a company faces a lawsuit and the ethical decision making around it., Precedence to be referred to is included in the case.


International Marketing (INT)

Participants may be challenged to perform marketing and management functions and tasks in any business enterprise primarily engaged in satisfying the desire of people to make productive or enjoyable use of services, at a global marketing perspective.


Marketing Management (MM)

Participants are given the opportunity to analyze a real-world merchandising management case situation and to present solutions to a professional with experience in merchandising and sales management. Environments may include, without being limited to, place/location marketing, transportation marketing, sports/entertainment marketing, charity/event marketing, marketing research, strategic marketing planning, distribution strategies, or target marketing.


Sports Entertainment Marketing (SEM)

Participants are given the opportunity to analyze a real-world sports and entertainment marketing case situations, by presenting solutions to a professional with experience in sports and entertainment marketing. You don’t have to be a sports fanatic to perform well in this category, entertainment also include movie theatres, concerts and comedy shows so any movie critic or music lover can excel as well!

Ad Campaign Challenge (ADC)

Competitors will have an opportunity to stretch their creativity in teams of 1-3 members by strategically constructing a campaign for one of our sponsoring partner’s clients through a real-life simulation of the advertising industry (also touches on entrepreneurship and marketing).


Project Management Institute (PMI)

Provides competitors in this special event with the opportunity to offer ground breaking solutions through research and strategy. The Challenge may include developing business plans, improving outdated strategies, or taking a product to new heights.


Start-Up Pitch Competition (SEED)

Competitors who have an established business/early stage startup may pitch an existing venture or a business idea for funding. There is no specific industry required and students can pitch any idea they may have.
